In this week’s cross dressing stories series, I’m going to tell you about the time I went to Target wearing 9-inch heels!
It was a sunny fall afternoon in the suburbs of a small town just outside of Detroit, Michigan.
I just woke up from a deep sleep, the result of consuming a 100mg edible the prior night.
*grrr*, my stomach roared!
I proceeded to the kitchen for a bowl of peanut butter granola with pumpkin seeds.
Suddenly, I felt the urge to dress up and do a bit of shopping.
I had just received my new pair of nine-inch stiletto pumps that I couldn’t wait to break in!
Since Target was on my mind, I figured taking a trip to the famous retail store in my pumps would be the perfect video opportunity.
*Ring*, my phone started yelling off the hook.
It was my friend Kim from college, wanting to know what I was up to that day.
We chatted for a bit and eventually met up at Target where I paid her to be my camera-gal for the time being.
She held my camera and followed me as I gracefully strode throughout the establishment, khaki jeans and all.
*click clack clank* my heels made noise along the marble flooring(a delight to my ears).
Despite my perceived confidence, I was terribly shaken on the inside.
The shaking of my legs, sweating of my palms, and shortness of my breath were common signs of “stage fright” taking over.
“Don’t you dare” I said to myself while walking.
Practicing self-encouragement was a skill I’d mastered by this time.
By practicing deep breathing patterns and relaxation, my anxiety eventually diminished.
I left Target that day feeling inspired and happy that I got to show off new heels to my YouTube subscribers!
There’s something fulfilling about challenging yourself to do what most men won’t and making that your normality.
Originally, wearing heels to Target that day was a challenge of self-acceptance and endurance…but I learned an important lesson.
No one can criticize you worse than you can.Â
This lesson stems from my sudden anxiety attack and how I pushed through the intensity.
Feelings are temporary, when you master the moment you achieve long-term benefits.
Funny enough, the video we filmed ended up being my most viewed video to date!
Not only was I able to feel free in my own fashion choices, but other men were able to take inspiration from my stylistic expression as well.
